Dear Union Members,
It is with great sadness that I announce the passing of Master Norm Edwards over the weekend. Norm suffered a stroke and despite a strong fight passed away on Sunday morning. He will be greatly missed by his family, students and all of us here in the Union. Norm has been one of the longest serving and hardest working Master Instructors in Taekwondo in New Zealand and a big part of the Union over the years. He produced numerous champions and ran many clubs. His personality and love for his students was well known and he was a respected leader in his community.
Over the next few days we will publish a story on Master Norm Edwards and his contribution to Taekwondo. At the North Island Championships we will also be holding a memorial for Master Norm and our members so that we can farewell him together.
Our sincere condolences go out at this time to his family and students.
